Want to try a class out before enrolling for the full semester? We offer trial classes for families new to Music Together® and/or Squeaky Wheel!
Trial classes are offered on a space-available basis, so please email me to register ahead of time. There is a limit of 3 trial classes per family, and fees will be applied towards your overall tuition fee if you decide to enrol. If you have taken Squeaky Wheel or Music Together classes before you will not be eligible for trial classes and must enrol for the full semester.
Trial class fee: $20 per family
Limit: 3 trial classes per family
Email me at thesqueakywheelcreative@gmail.com to request a trial class.
Refund/Credit Policy
Tuition payment is due upon registration to ensure materials and reserve your spot. Payment plans may be worked out on case-by-case basis.
Tuition for Music Together® classes includes a non-refundable $20 registration fee. Tuition is non-refundable after the first day of classes. If you withdraw before the first day of classes you will receive credit for a future semester. Partial credit may be given if you withdraw after the first class, only in exceptional circumstances.
If you submit your registration & tuition and are notified that class already filled up, you will be refunded in full upon notification.
Make-Up Classes
If you miss a class, make-ups are offered on a space-available basis. These must be reserved in advance by emailing or texting me.
If I have to cancel a class, I may offer one in person make-up class during the semester (usually at the end), and will notify enrolled families of the day/time when it is scheduled. Otherwise I may offer one pre-recorded class that you are welcome to use at home, or refund the class portion.
No guarantees can be made for make-up class availability after the current semester you are enrolled in. However, you may email me at thesqueakywheelcreative@gmail.com to request a make-up spot at any time.
Class Cancelation Policy
If a class is canceled due to weather, instructor illness, or any other reason, I will provide the make-up class either online (pre-recorded), or in-person at a later date, as determined by Squeaky Wheel Creative. If these options are not possible, the missed class will be refunded.
Waitlist Policy
Waitlists are collected each semester once registration is full (please sign up for our mailing list/follow us on social media to stay up to date on registration opening time!). Families must request a new spot on the waitlist each semester. Waitlist placement order is determined based on the order that requests are received.
Once you are on the waitlist, if a spot for the current semester opens up, I will contact each family by email and phone. You'll then have 48hrs to respond to request the spot, with priority given based on waitlist placement. After that 48hr period, registration will become first-come-first-serve, and may be opened up to the general public if needed.
Waitlisted families who do not get into class will be given priority enrolment in the following semester only, and notified via email when the priority enrolment period opens.
Illness Policy
Please do not attend class if you or your child is ill. If you or your child has had a fever, you must be fever-free for at least 24 hours (without the assistance of fever-reducing medication) before returning to class.
To prioritize everyone's safety and health, we will have a no tolerance policy for any symptoms of contagious illnesses. If you or your child are symptomatic, please stay home and make use of our make-up class and/or our pre-recorded online class - please email me if you have any questions about these. I unfortunately will need to ask families to leave if they arrive showing signs of contagious illness in order to keep everyone as healthy as possible and avoid class cancellations.
Please help us minimize germs by washing/sanitizing you and your child's hands before entering class, and again after class.
Covid-19
We take the health risks of Covid-19 seriously and need your help to mitigate risks to all participants. We appreciate that folks with immune deficiencies, chronic illnesses and other vulnerabilities to Covid-19 are a part of our community, and we want to do our part to keep everyone safe.
Masks
Masks will be optional in all our classes. However, we reserve the right to adjust this policy as we see fit, and will not offer refunds if our policies change during the semester.
Testing Positive/COVID Exposures
If you or your child tests positive for Covid-19 or is diagnosed with any other highly contagious illness, and you believe your last attended class may have put others at risk for infection, please email/call/text me immediately.
As a business, Squeaky Wheel will follow all local health guidelines for exposures of any kind. If you test positive for Covid, due to the increased aerosols released during singing, we ask that you remain away from the studio for ten days following the onset of symptoms or a positive test, and remain masked until day 14, or the completion of a negative test, if that comes first.
If you or your child have had a close contact Covid-19 exposure, we ask that you avoid coming to class for 3 days and take a Covid test to be sure, or wait 5 full days to return to class if choosing not to test. Please remember, the count starts from the last known time of contact with the positive patient.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is very important to me. By enrolling in a Music Together class at Squeaky Wheel Creative, a licensed Music Together centre, contact information you provide will be shared with Music Together Worldwide (MTW). This information will be used to track registration, for quality assurance and registration reminders. You may unsubscribe from Music Together Worldwide emails at any time. For more information about how MTW uses and stores your personal information, you may review the Music Together Worldwide Privacy Policy.
Is it ok to bring snacks and toys?
We cannot bring snacks into the Music Together® studio, however you are welcome to step outside to the lobby/changeroom at any time for snack breaks. Bottles, cups, and breast/chestfeeding in class are always ok!
For the best learning experience for all children we ask that toys from home are put away in your bags during class time.
What happens if a class is canceled?
If we have to cancel for some unexpected reason, I will email the class participants and call/text everyone who doesn't respond to my email within a short amount of time. When a cancelation occurs, I will do my best to make it up by either adding the missed class on to the end of the semester, rescheduling on another day, and/or offering a pre-recorded class online.
Is it OK for more than one adult to come to class?
All parents, grandparents or caregivers in your child's life are welcome to join parent-participation classes at any time - notification is appreciated to make sure we have enough supplies. Music and art-making with the entire family is incredibly beneficial to your child's development, and attending class is a great way for grownups to continue the creative fun at home.
Can I bring an un-registered sibling or friend?
Older children who are off school and wish to attend are welcome on a space-available basis - please email me to request a spot. Siblings under 5 years old need to be registered, except under exceptional circumstances. Please do not bring older children who are home sick from school (see illness policy above).
If friends under 5 years old want to attend but are not registered, trial classes may be available (see trial class policy below).
Cell Phones, Photos, Videos during Music Together® Class
To see the biggest benefit to our kids' musical development we need to model joyful music-making to them in class, and take this brief time to step away from technology. I ask that cell phones be put on silent, and all participants refrain from texting, taking photos or videos during class.
You are welcome to take pictures before or after class, however please ask other parents before you take or post a picture of them or their children on social media. Please also let me know if you do not want to be photographed.
Talking during Music Together® Class
It’s tricky for young children to tune out adult speaking voices, so we can all work together to build a rich musical environment by limiting the amount of talking we do during class. Instead, we want to 'turn on our singing voices' and focus on music-making. It's rare that kids get this kind of musical immersion, and our active participation (regardless of what we think about our musical ability) is the key to children learning and growing musically!
Music Together® Instruments and Storybooks
Instruments like the ones we use in our Music Together class, and Singalong Storybooks are available for purchase directly from Music Together LLC's Store: http://musictogether.com/Store
